Viral RNA in serum samples following challenge infection. Viral RNA was detected using real-time PCR. A total of six groups with five animals per group (except group 6, with only four animals) were used. Group 1 was not vaccinated, group 2 was vaccinated with a DOE-FMD vaccine 2 days before challenge, group 3 was vaccinated with a DOE-FMD and CpG in Emulsigen 2 days before challenge, group 4 was vaccinated with DOE-FMD 7 days before challenge, group 5 was vaccinated with DOE-FMD and CpG in Emulsigen 7 days before challenge, and group 6 was vaccinated 21 days before challenge with a conventional DOE type O₁ Manisa vaccine. The averages from three independent experiments with standard deviation error bars are shown.
