Various biological functions of exogenously expressed FLASH and its mutants are summarized. KB cells with Tet-On shFLASH were cultured with (+) or without (−) 1 μg/ml Dox for 3 days, and then nuclear foci of FLASH, NPAT, and coilin, the expression level of histone mRNAs, and cell cycle progression were examined as described in the legends to Fig. 1 and 3A to D (also see Fig. S1C in the supplemental material). ++, normal; +, weak but significant; ±, nearly undetectable; −, undetectable.
