Effect of bir1-17 on the cellular localization of Ipl1 kinase in cells in metaphase. Asynchronous, exponentially growing cultures of wild-type BIR1 (T5241) and bir1-17 (VMY14) mutant cells expressing Ipl1-GFP and both CFP-tagged Ctf19 and Ndc80 as kinetochore markers were shifted to 37°C for 1 h, and then images were acquired.
