Table summarizes the post mortem intervals (PMI) and the Aβ load for each brain tissue specimen used. The plaque counts were performed in specific areas using semi-quantitative measures generated using CERAD methodology. They are purely estimates of pathology on a scale of 0–8. There was no statistically significant difference in age between groups by T-test. In the AD group, the majority is males since the samples were obtained from a VA hospital.

C = Cerebellum; F = Frontal cortex; T = Temporal cortex; Gender: M = Male; F = Female; PMI = post mortem interval.
