Figure 2

Frequency dependency of DEP-FFF elution fractograms for (A) T-lymphocytes and (B) human breast cancer MDA-435 cells obtained by the on-line flow cytometer. Compared with T-lymphocytes, MDA-435 cells exhibited rapidly broadening elution fractograms as frequencies increased above 10 kHz. Note the frequency scale difference. Cells were suspended at 1.2 × 106/mL in an isotonic sucrose/dextrose buffer having an electrical conductivity of 10 mS/ m. The applied voltage was 4 V p-p. The injection and withdrawal syringe pumps were operated at 2 and 1.6 mL/min, respectively.
