Beginning with cells randomly distributed with zero velocity and acceleration, cells move and interact under the influence of parameters defining viscosities (h_fluid and h_cytoplasm), interaction strengths (k_1AA, k_1BB, k_1AB, and k₀), and computational features such as the size of the computational domain and time step (Δt). Cells that are close to one another (i.e., within d_max) are attracted or repelled with prescribed heterotypic (k_1AA, k_1BB) or heterotypic (k_1AB) interaction strengths, and cells that overlap are repelled hydrostatically with a different strength (k₀).
