Curcumin triggers cleavage of caspase substrates. Melanoma cells were treated with 75 µM curcumin for the indicated times. Cell extracts (150 µg of protein) from untreated and curcumin-treated cells were prepared as described under Section “Experimental Procedures” and analyzed by Western blot analysis. Membranes were probed with anti-PARP, anti-p23, or neo specific anti-p19 antibody. Cell extracts were also probed with GAPDH as a loading control.
