Genotyping signal from the matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) genotyping platform for 1 single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) of 1 person. The x-axis displays the mass of the extension primer product and the y-axis the relative intensity of the product. Each of the 2 alleles refers to a product with a specific mass. Therefore, a signal is detected at either of these 2 positions on the x-axis (homozygous genotype of either of the alleles) or at both (heterozygous as shown in the figure). The other signals are white noise.
