Fig. 2

Steady-state absorption spectra of all-trans (—) and central-cis isomers (—) of: (A) neurosporene; (B) spheroidene; and (C) spirilloxanthin. In the case of spheroidene the absorption spectrum of a terminal-cis isomer (----) is shown. The spectra were recorded at 77 K in EPA for neurosporene and spheroidene and in 2-MTHF for spirilloxnthin. The spectra were normalized to their absorption maxima.
