a: A phantom image was acquired with a quadrature coil. For comparison, the same phantom was imaged with an 8-channel array, and b: Psos and c: Pnorm combinations were performed. While the Psos image has amplitude variations, the Pnorm combination closely matches the uniformity of the quadrature coil image. The cross-sections of the phantom images across the dashed red line are shown to demonstrate the improvement in homogeneity with Pnorm.
