Simulation and CRLB results for a two-peak signal of water and fat with ETL=16. This simulation used 20 000 trials. Estimates for the chemical shift of both water and fat achieved an uncertainty at the CRLB (a). The uncertainties in T2* for both peaks reached their CRLBs. The T2* of fat (30 ms) was set to half of that of water (60 ms) (b). The CRLB for the amplitudes of both water and fat were similar when represented as relative uncertainties (c). The uncertainties provided by the algorithm had a similar result.
