GalXM immunization negatively affects several types of splenocytes (Top Panel): Percentage of CD19+ B-cells, CD4+ and CD8+ T-cells and F4/80+ macrophages during 3, 8, 14, and 28 days after 10 μg of GalXM injection. Balb/c mice that were followed to day 28 received a GalXM boosting immunization of 0.5 μg of GalXM. For CD19+ B-cells injected with GalXM there is a statistically significant decrease p = 0.006, denoted by (*) when compared to the PBS control. (Lower Panel): Percentage of cells that are double positive for the marker and Annexin V. Representative absolute number of cells in the spleen range as follows: CD19+ B-cells; GalXM: (3.9 × 106 −1.69 × 106 cells), PBS (9.7 × 107 −2.2 × 107cells), CFA (8.9 × 106 −1.7 × 107cells). CD4+ T-cells; GalXM: (1.4 × 107 −3.4 × 107cells), PBS (3.0 × 107 −4.8 × 107cells),CFA (2.5 × 107 −3.5 × 107cells) and CD8+ T-cells; GalXM: (6.7 × 106 −1.8 × 107cells), PBS (9.0 × 106 −2.0 × 107cells), CFA (1.0 × 107 −1.6 × 107cells) and F4/80+; GalXM: (3.9 × 106 −7.6 × 107cells), PBS (3.3 × 106 −6.9 × 106 cells), CFA (6.8 × 106 −9.8 × 106 cells). n = 4 mice per group.
