The line with the circle markers shows the slope of 1.5 (no changes in the net tangential moment), while the line with the square markers shows a slope of 1 (equal thumb and VF tangential forces changes). Note that the sign for external torque corresponds to the moments exerted by the subjects, such that negative values of external torque correspond to when the added weight is on the left side, and positive values to when the added weight is on the right side.
