Induction of C5a peptidase transcription in different S. agalactiae strains using various pools and sources of human serum. All strains shown were transformed by plasmid pBSU409 harboring the scpB reporter gene construct (pBSU409scpBProm). Strains were grown at 37°C overnight in THY broth supplemented with 10% human serum as indicated or fetal calf serum as a control. Mean fluorescence values were measured by FACS analysis.
