p53 target genes are not affected in villus enterocytes expressing TAg and mutants. Transcript levels of p53 target genes in nontransgenic (NT), TAg^wt, TAg^N136, TAg³²¹³, and TAg^D44N villus samples were analyzed. Normal MEFs (control) and MEFs expressing TAg^wt and TAg^N136 were used to show the presence of active p53 in MEFs. cDNAs were reverse transcribed from equal amounts of total RNA extracts and subjected to PCR using specific primers. The transcript level of Adh5 was used as a loading control.
