Cell-surface labeling in the presence of Met. Labeling levels were evaluated for cells carrying the L13G and NLL mutants after OmpC expression at 1.0 mM Anl and varying concentrations of Met. Fluorescence histograms show that the NLL mutant is less susceptible than L13G to the presence of Met in the medium, in agreement with substrate preferences of these mutants determined in vitro (Table 1).
