Preference was defined as percent total fluid that was ethanol presented as mean ± SEM. During adolescence acquisition, vehicle-treated males had a higher preference compared to E/N males (* p ≤0.05). E/N and vehicle males and E/N females had a greater ethanol preference during the adolescent acquisition phase (# p<.01) than during adulthood. Vehicle-treated females had a higher ethanol preference compared to all groups during adulthood acquisition and two bottle choice phases (* p≤0.05).
