Representative images of lung metastases 14–16 days after resection of the primary tumor and bone marrow-derived cell (BMDC) accumulation in the primary tumor, peri-metastatic lung (PML, tissue surrounding lung metastases) and lung metastases in the LLC1 (A) and B16 (B) models. The number of BMDCs was calculated as the ratio of green fluorescence protein (GFP)-surface area to DAPI-surface area. DAPI was used to stain the nuclei of all cells (n = 6–8 mice per group). All images are 512 µm across.
