^aFour doses of vaccine were administered, on days 0, 21, 42, and 230. Animals were challenged on day 290. One animal from group 1 was euthanized after completion of the vaccination schedule but prior to challenge due to chronic severe anemia of an unknown origin that was nonresponsive to nutritional supplementation, as well as abnormal behaviors.
