While Cyp46 expression occurred in neurons in both contralateral cortex and at the site of injury, there was minimal microglial expression of Cyp46 in contralateral cortex, but clear colocalization of expression at the site of injury (arrow). Cyp46 expression was not present in contralateral cortex astrocytes. At the site of injury, some astrocytes showed Cyp46-positive staining, but most did not.
