A. Persistent attenuated cortisol responses (p=0.006) to an 100 μg i.v. CRH challenge in depressed patients on long-term sick-leave related to job-stress compared to controls on 12 month follow-up. Datapoints are means ± SEM. Potential confounds from smoking or antidepressant treatment were excluded by replicating the results with these subjects excluded.
