COX-2 immunoreactivity score of normal and neoplastic oesophageal squamous tissues in HNC patients. The immunoreactivity score is the product of the percentage of positive cells and the staining intensity. COX-2 expression is significantly higher in ESCC than in normal epithelium. LGD=low-grade dysplasia; HGD=high-grade dysplasia of the squamous oesophagus.
