The protein kinase inhibitors caffeine and wortmannin do not prevent MG132-induced ULBP1 expression. FaDu cells were treated with caffeine (Caf) or wortmannin (Wrt) for 7 h, with MG132 (MG) for 5 h, or with caffeine or wortmannin for 7 h, with the addition of MG132 during the final 5 h (Caf/MG and Wrt/MG). ULBP1 mRNA was measured and normalized to control DMSO-treated cells (Con). Shown are results that are typical of two independent experiments.
