Relative excluded volume, calculated according to Eq. 1, of Phy (dark gray) and dgPhy (light gray). Note the clear difference between the relative excluded volumes of dgPhy and Phy (∼75% larger for Phy) at comparable concentrations of 80 and 86 mg/ml, respectively. Also note that the relative excluded volume of dgPhy increases when the concentration is raised, whereas it is decreased in the case of Phy.
