High-affinity influx is mediated by STP H+ co-transporters, which also mediate 3-O-methylglucose uptake. Efflux of 3-O-methylglucose occurs through an unknown pathway. Low-affinity uptake and release of sucrose and glucose are possibly mediated by facilitators or endo/exocytosis.
