Pituitary follistatin mRNA levels decline significantly at the time of birth. Pituitary RNA from E19 and PN1 male rats were used in qRT-PCR to determine the relative mRNA levels of total FST (A) and the FST-288 isoform (B). The data are expressed as copies of specific RNA per microgram total RNA. Each value represents the mean ± sem of six subjects per group.
