RP-HPLC analyses of products from the reaction of the A. marina fusion protein with C18.2ω6. RP-HPLC conditions are the same as in Fig. 2. The peaks labeled 1, 2, and 3 were identified as a linoleic acid-derived γ-ketol, α-ketol, and cyclopentenone, respectively. The major product, eluting at ∼17.5 min and labeled “new product” showed strong absorbance at 205 nm and was identified as an epoxyalcohol (see main text).
