0. Input are two images I and J (J and I are assumed to be similar) and a momentum m aligned with I.
1. Compute v = Km, and the infinitesimal variation of v on J : ξ = − 〈J, v〉.
2. Let the aligned momentum be m0 = z0NJ where NJ is the oriented unit normal to the level sets of J and z0 is provided by the lifting procedure, Sect. 4.3.
