Two-week-old Arabidopsis plants were grown autotrophically on soil or in MS medium plus 3 % (w/v) sucrose. Chlorophyll fluorescence was measured in attached Arabidopsis leaves and the following parameters were calculated: Fv/Fm, ΦPSII, NPQ and 1−qP. Each given value ± SD represents the average of four identical experiments. The leaf temperature was 23°C
