Distributions of island boundary distance to closest segment. The ‘random segmentation’ randomly cuts the genome into the same number of segments as the recursive segmentation algorithm. The window algorithm divides the genome into 930 fragments, whereas the recursive algorithm divides the genome into (on average) 101 fragments.
