(A) Proliferation of the cells was measured by MTT assay. A representative experiment is shown. Data are the mean of nine wells, normalized to the absorbance at day 0; error bars, SEM. (B) Cell motility was measured in Transwells assays, in which lower and upper chambers contained medium supplemented with 10% FCS. Cells that had migrated across the filter after 24 h were fixed and stained. The number of migrated cells was determined by counting five independent microscopic fields (20-fold magnification). Data shown are the mean of duplicate wells and are representative of two independent experiments.
