Case of a 62 year old female with a leiomyosarcoma, grade III, of the vena cava with lung and liver metastases. FDG PET showed a decrease of the average SUV from 6.7 and of the SUVmax from 13.5 (upper left image) to 3.5 and 6.1 (upper right image), respectively, as well as a decline of the FDG uptake in all evaluable lesions (mSUV PET images, colour-scales are directly comparable (0–10 SUV)). As an example, the corresponding CT scan showed the reduction in size of one reference lesion in the lung demonstrating a PR according to RECIST criteria (lower left and right images). Additionally, liver metastases demonstrated a partial remission (not shown).
