Effect of ZnSO₄ and/or carmustine (BCNU) on the activity of caspase-3 enzyme in the hippocampus of rats. Data are presented as mean ± SEM (n = 10) and analyzed using Graph Pad Instat software by one way ANOVA followed by Tukey Kramer post-test. ZnSO₄ was injected as a single dose (0.1 µmol/10 µl saline, i.c.v). BCNU was injected in a single dose (20 mg/kg i.v). Caspase-3 activity was assessed in hippocampal homogenates at the end of the experiment period (3 weeks).
