Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells were transfected with mtAEQ, P2Y5 cDNA (or the empty vector), and Gα_Δ6qi5myr. P2Y5-specific intracellular Ca²⁺ concentration ([Ca²⁺]_i) induction was determined by subtracting the change in the [Ca²⁺]_i level in vector-transfected cells from that in P2Y5-transfected cells.
