The growth constant k was calculated from experimental data as described in the Methods section. The Hydra population doubling time (T2) was obtained from the standard equation of logarithmic growth ln(n/n0) = kt. When n/n0 = 2. T2 = ln2/k = 0,693/k. The Average budding rate was obtained from total Budding Rate (BR) as BR/n0 (see also Figure S5). QR treatment does not influence the Hydra growth.
