Parkin prevents PUMA peptide-induced cytochrome c release from mitochondria. (A) Mitochondria from the MES and MES myc-Parkin cell lines were incubated with either DMSO or the purified BH3 domain of PUMA (10 µm). Released cytochrome c was detected by western blot. (B) Equal loading of mitochondrial proteins was confirmed by western blotting the mitochondrial retained proteins for HSP 60 and VDAC.
