MS3 (m/z 628→m/z 549→) product ion spectra of M1 and M2 (QIT instrument). The loss of two water molecules from the ion at m/z 549 of M1 produced a formaldehyde moiety in the right side and further neutral loss of CO from the formaldehyde group introduced the fragment ion at m/z 485. For M2, the loss of water could not form such a formaldehyde group.
