Proliferation of lymph node (LN) cells from mice immunized with dendritic cell (DC) vaccines. DCs (1 × 10⁶ cells) pulsed with N-terminal region mucin antigen 1 (MUC1-N) or Tat-MUC1-N proteins were injected into the base of tails of B6 mice (three mice per group). LN cells were harvested from inguinal and peri-aortic lymph nodes 10 days later. LN cells were co-cultured with the indicated amounts of MUC1-N proteins for 2 days and labelled with [³H]-methylthymidine (1 mCi) for an additional 18 h. Proliferation of LN cells was determined by [³H]-methylthymidine uptake. Stimulation index = counts per minute (cpm)_test/cpm_medium, presented as mean ± standard error of the mean. *P < 0·05 when compared with DC (MUC1-N).
