Nano-alumina induces loss of mitochondrial membrane potential. a Confluent HBMEC were treated with the indicated concentrations of nano-alumina (nano-Al) and carbon nanoparticles (nano-C) for 24 h and mitochondrial potential was assessed by MitoRed CMXRos staining. Mitochondria in the 10 µM nano-alumina-treated groups exhibit diffuse staining pattern (arrows).
