(a) J774A.1 cells were incubated for 3 h with WT, isogenic control and the bmh1 mutants, and supernatants were measured for expression using a TNF-α ELISA kit. LPS at 5 ng ml⁻¹ was used as a positive control. Results are presented as the mean±sd concentration in pg ml⁻¹. *Significantly different from WT and BMH; P<0.05 was considered significant. Experiments were set up in triplicate and repeated three times, with similar results. (b) RAW 264.7 cells were incubated with Candida strains as in (a). Supernatants were diluted 1 : 10 and evaluated for TNF-α expression.
