Oxygen consumption is not significantly altered in Sre1 pathway mutants. Yeast cells of each strain were grown as described in Materials and Methods. A total of 5 × 107 washed cells were suspended in 2 ml of medium, and changes in oxygen tension were measured using a Clark-type electrode. Samples were measured with (closed bars) or without (open bars) antimycin A. Data are expressed as levels relative to the wild-type strain.
