HRV1a infection does not induce IRF-3 homodimers. HeLa cells were infected with either SeV or HRV1a and harvested at the times indicated. Cell extracts were prepared and fractionated by native PAGE, and IRF-3 was detected by Western blot analysis using polyclonal rabbit antiserum against IRF-3, which strongly recognizes both the monomeric and dimeric forms of the protein.
