AcMNPV-mediated inhibition of host protein synthesis is prevented upon silencing of replicative lefs. SF21 monolayers were transfected with the indicated dsRNAs and infected 24 h later with AcMNPV wt/lacZ (MOI = 10). The cells were radiolabeled for 1 h with [³⁵S]methionine-cysteine, collected at the indicated times (in hours), and lysed. Protein samples from equal cell numbers were subjected to SDS-PAGE and autoradiography. Early and late/very late virus proteins are denoted by closed and open arrows, respectively; unlabeled arrows denote unknown late virus proteins.
