^aThe diversity and the relative contributions of the proteins encoded by GAG (matrix [MA], capsid [CA], nucleocapsid [NC], and p6) to the vaccine-induced, virus-induced, and virus-recalled GAG-specific T-cell responses were studied by IFN-γ ELISPOT assay at the peak of the primary responses (2 weeks postprime), a week after the boost, and during the acute phase of infection (3 weeks postchallenge) using 11 pools of 5 to 12 peptides as shown in the column subheadings. The first two columns indicate the animal identification and treatment group.
