DNA strand annealing. A, A total of 8 nm of each enzyme was incubated with 40- and 80-nucleotide-long single-stranded oligonucleotides at 37°C for 20 min. Annealing of these two oligonucleotides leads to the appearance of partial duplex DNA with a 5′ overhang as diagrammed. The reaction was performed in the presence of ATP, ATPγS, or ADP.
