Effect of AdCA5 treatment on the number of CACs in peripheral blood of diabetic mice following femoral artery ligation. AdCA5 or AdLacZ was injected into the ischemic limb immediately after surgery. After 3 or 7 days, peripheral blood was collected and analyzed by flow cytometry to detect the following populations of CACs: CD34⁺/VEGFR2⁺ (A), Sca-1⁺/VEGFR2⁺ (B), and CD34⁺/CXCR4⁺ (C).
