ANCOVA: One outlier had to be removed to achieve a normal distribution of the residuals (whole model, r² = 0.33, F_3,34 = 5.47, p = 0.004). Inclusion of the outlier removes the significance of the factor "initial number of spiders" but does not change qualitative results of the other factors.
