Peroxynitrite concentration dependencies of 3-NT formation (A,D), Ph-b activity (B,E), and of DTNB-reactive protein Cys residues (C,F). Rabbit muscle Ph-b (20 µM, except for 2 uM in E) was treated with peroxynitrite in the absence (open circles) or in the presence of 25 mM sodium bicarbonate (solid circles) in 25 mM sodium phosphate buffer containing 1 mM DTPA, pH 7.4. The Ph-b activity in controls (26 U/mg protein) was set equal 100%.
