Effect of experimental protocol on total membrane capacitance measurements. Pyloric dilator (PD) and lateral pyloric (LP) neurons were impaled with 2 electrodes and capacitance was measured in either current clamp (CC_step) or voltage clamp (VC_step or VC_ramp) in the presence of tetrodotoxin (TTX) and Cs⁺ in the bath, as described in methods. The capacitance values were compared with a Kruskal–Wallis one-way ANOVA on ranks with post hoc Dunn's test comparisons. ^***P < 0.001. More details in Table 1.
