Scheme of a pulse sequence for multiple spin-echo (MSE) imaging. The echo times TE1 and TE2 may be different in size. The echoes can be acquired separately to obtain images with different T 2 weighting and can be used to calculate local T 2 values, or the echoes can be added to obtain a higher signal to noise for the images. To obtain a N N image matrix, N data points have to be sampled during the acquisition of each echo. The sequence has to be repeated for N different values of the phase encoding gradient, ranging from –G max to G max
